ResPublica and associated organisations argue that to ensure all Britons get to enjoy the scenery of their country, there ought to be a “community right” to local beauty, both in rural and urban parts of the country. They want this to be enshrined in law. Beccy Speight, chief executive of the Woodland Trust, commented: Beautiful places matter and, as this report shows, policy needs to catch up with the evidence. With the clock ticking on a European Commission probe into Google’s $2.1 billion bid for Fitbit, the tech giant offered regulators a concession late Monday, agreeing not to use Fitbit’s trove of health data to help target ads.Google had been staring down the possibility of a sweeping antitrust investigation by European regulators that was the latest in a series of probes into its deal with Fitbit announced last November. But the tech giant had a potential way to avoid the full thrust of the investigation: A promise, in the form of a binding pledge, not to use Fitbit’s fitness data for ad-targeting. Regulators gave the company until Monday to offer such a statement. Google complied late that day, Reuters reported. What is it? What’s included? “I am pleased to announce that confirmation of streaming of all our opening games in both Senior Football and Hurling Championships was agreed this evening with John Moynihan from “All Rounder Sport”,” said Handy in the email.“The cost per game is €5 and podcast and instructions on how to access streaming will be circulated tomorrow on all Laois GAA social media outlets.“Unfortunately, Clubs will not be allowed video or stream games from the stadium whilst Laois GAA is streaming Senior Championship games.“Laois GAA will provide a link for each of your Club games later that evening or next morning.”Laois GAA had originally been planning on producing an extended highlights package on all games but changed that when only 200 people, including the players and officials, were allowed to attend. The restriction on only 200 people attending outdoor events remains in place until August 10 at the earliest. In the meantime, clubs are only given 50 tickets each for their supporters. It means that Laois GAA will be considerably down on their gate receipts for this year and it remains to be seen what level of subscriptions they will get for the games and if it can cover the cost of production.“It will be a live streaming. We will be designating next week what the games are,” said Laois GAA PRO Paul Dargan last week when speaking on the LaoisToday Talking Sport Podcast.“We have to with (only) 200 people (allowed to attend).”He said there was an amount of work in the background to get it all set up properly.“I wouldn’t say I’m a techie man, but I am a photographer so I’d be fairly up to speed on a lot of things. But there are some things on another level. The back end of things is unbelievable.“Not just the filming and streaming. It is a hell of a lot different than taking out phone, logging on to Facebook and hitting Live. (The) integrated payment system is another level of security.”He also explained that only one person can log at a time, which means that people can’t share the same subscripton – though there is nothing stopping a number of people watching the game on the same screen. The Laois hurling championships get underway this week with games in MW Hire O’Moore Park between Camross and Borris-Kilcotton on Thursday, Rathdowney-Errill and Camross on Friday and a double header on Saturday featuring Ballinakill v Rosenallis and Abbeyleix v Castletown. The Laois senior football championship begins on Thursday week when Ballyroan-Abbey meet St Joseph’s.SEE ALSO – No floodlit matches in MW Hire O’Moore Park as €400,000 ‘Green Stadium’ initiative to commence Facebook Twitter By LaoisToday Reporter – 27th July 2020 Electric Picnic Electric Picnic organisers release statement following confirmation of new festival date Pinterest Home Sport GAA Confirmed: Laois GAA set to live stream all opening round senior championship… SportGAA Facebook News Confirmed: Laois GAA set to live stream all opening round senior championship games WhatsApp Electric Picnic Bizarre situation as Ben Brennan breaks up Fianna Fáil-Fine Gael arrangement to take Graiguecullen-Portarlington vice-chair role TAGSJohn MoynihanLaois GAALive Streaming.
