10th annual KU Kickoff returns to Corinth Square Friday

first_imgIn 2006, then-KU football Head Coach Mark Mangino helped kick off the inaugural iteration of an event that would become an annual Prairie Village tradition: the KU Kickoff at Corinth Square.Since then, the team has seen the highest of highs with the 2008 Orange Bowl victory — and then a series of lower and lower lows.But the KU faithful will be hoping to initiate a new era of positivity yet again this evening when coach Dave Beaty makes his KU Kickoff debut. (He’ll be the fourth coach to appear at the event since its inception).Beaty will be joined at the event by new women’s basketball coach Brandon Schneider.In addition to the speakers from the athletic department, entertainment will be provided by the band Coversmith, which will play from 8 to 10 p.m.The event starts at 6 p.m. just east of Arby’s.last_img read more
